It is camping and backpacking season in the Ozarks where I live. There is a hidden jewel of a campsite I found on a spur of a backpacking trail in near the Mulberry River Valley amid the Arkansas Ozarks. It is at the edge of a cliff overlooking the valley. At night, that campsite, known as Spyrock, opens up to the night sky blanketed with stars and galaxies far, far away. Every time I camp there and peer into that night sky, I remember these words from David. My heart echoes with the same sentiment he felt thousands of miles away and thousands of years ago. The night sky and its hypnotic wonder provoke me to look toward God and ask, “What is man that you are mindful of him?”
