The Age of Grace

January 4, 20233 min read

When Christ completed His work at the cross and the resurrection, He ushered in a new age of grace. This episode considers what grace looked like in the Old Testament. We also look at how believers in the early church perceived grace. Recognizing that we live in the age of grace should upgrade the way we consider, behave, and live. We have access to God that angels and our ancestors only dreamed about!

This is part two in our podcast series Grace – The Energy of God!

Verses About the Age of Grace

Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:14-16 (ESV)

And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. Acts 4:33 (NKJV)

Now I commend you to God and to the message of His grace which can build you up and give you your inheritance among all those who are consecrated to Him. Acts 20:32 Phillips Translation

The report of this came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent Barnabas to Antioch. When he came and saw the grace of God, he was glad, and he exhorted them all to remain faithful to the Lord with steadfast purpose, for he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord. So Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, and when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they met with the church and taught a great many people. And in Antioch the disciples were first called Christians.

Acts 11:22-26 (ESV)

For it is all for your sake so that as grace extend to more and more people it may increase thanksiging to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 4:15
