Considerations As You Read

As we closed out last week’s episode, we noted how Elijah did not complete the instructions given to him by God at Mount Horeb. In today’s episode, that mission is finally completed by Elisha, and we learn about the newest coup and insurgent in the northern kingdom of Israel – Jehu. This guy was unlike anything that came before and a true psychopath.

1. What do you think made Elisha and Elijah nervous about Jehu? 

2. As nutty and violent as Jehu was, he still could have devoted himself to God and opened a pathway for redemption in the northern kingdom. What do you think went wrong?
